In case you are (very) sensitive to one of its ingredients. There is no information on use during pregnancies, so ask your GP for advice. As far as known, SoreFix can be safely used during breastfeeding. The balm is suited for children of four years and older.

SoreFix Rescue cold sore cream
You use the SoreFix Rescue cold sore cream to treat cold sores. For the best result, apply the cream 3 to 6 times daily to the affected area of ​​the lips to prevent further spread of the virus. Apply the cream when the first symptoms appear (tingling, itching, painful and burning sensation) until the cold sore (including the scabs) has completely disappeared. It is recommended to always wash your hands before and after applying the cream. When using lipstick, it is recommended to apply SoreFix Rescue cold sore cream at least 15 minutes in advance.

SoreFix Prevent cold sore balm
You use SoreFix Prevent cold sore balm to prevent cold sores. To prevent cold sores, apply SoreFix Prevent cold sore balm 3 to 6 times a day to the entire lip when exposed to one of the triggers. It is recommended to wash your hands before applying the balm. When using lipstick, it is recommended to apply SoreFix Prevent cold sore balm at least 15 minutes in advance.

SoreFix Duo Patch 

You use SoreFix Duo Patch as a transparent patch to cover your cold sore. SoreFix Duo Patch also has a wound healing ingredient. Wash your hands before using the Patch and make sure the skin is clean and dry. Open the packaging, grab the applicator on the opposite side of the patch between thumb and forefinger and then take the applicator with patch out of the packaging. First place half of the patch on the cold sore and then cover the entire cold sore with the other half. If necessary, make-up and lipstick can be applied over the patch. Repeat the treatment until the cold sore disappears completely. For single use only.

SoreFix has products that can be used by children.

SoreFix Rescue cold sore cream and SoreFix Prevent cold sore balm are suitable from 4 years old. SoreFix Duo Patch is suitable from 16 years old.

Store the SoreFix products in a cool, dry place away from light and heat sources. Keep out of the reach of children.

Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date applies if the product is stored in undamaged packaging and in accordance with the instructions. For more information, read the package insert or instructions for use of the product.

Questions about cold sore

Cold sores are ulcers usually formed on the lips or around the mouth. Cold sores are the most common viral infection and are caused by Herpes Simplex Virus – type 1 (HSV-1).

The cold sore is a fluid-filled blister that causes the skin to swell and marks red. The blisters are usually painful. When these blisters fill with liquid, the first layer is very sensitive. Rubbing / sanding over it can lead to a nasty infection. If cold sore lip balm is applied in time, the chance of a scar is low.

There are 4 phases in the life cycle of cold sores. The Herpes Simplex Virus is contagious in every phase. The duration of all phases together is around 7 to 10 days, but sometimes 2 weeks or more. Consult a doctor if cold sores last longer than 14 days.

To prevent cold sores you should try to avoid the triggers that activate the virus. The triggers are external influences. Most people know when a cold sore is lurking. There are several triggers for activating (herpes simplex virus) a cold sore, these vary per person.

  • Extreme cold
  • Sunlight / UV radiation
  • Hormonal changes
  • Chapped or dry lips
  • Reduced resistance

A cold sore can be dangerous for a baby. If a baby is younger than 3 months and gets these symptoms, consult a doctor immediately. SoreFix is not suitable for the treatment of these symptoms in babies. Especially with small children, the virus can spread to other places in the body.
